Curious about a career in massage but not sure where to start? We’ve got the perfect event for you—our Portland massage career preview event on 7/19. Whether you’re actively seeking a medical massage certification, or just interested in learning more about massage careers, this event will provide the experience and information you need.
Each month, we hold a massage career preview event to get the word out about our program and why massage is an excellent career. Here’s how the day’s schedule will go:
10:00am to 12:00pm – Massage Career Preview
This Q&A session will cover all of your burning queries about massage careers. A practicing LMT will be present to answer your questions, as will an admissions representative from East West College. Licensure, job options, daily life for LMTs—we’ll have time to cover these areas and more. We’ll also have the opportunity to discuss logistical details about taking East West College classes and financing your massage education.
12:30pm-3:30pm – Introductory Massage Class
If your heart is yearning for a career in massage therapy, but you don’t have much actual experience in giving massages, you’ll love this second half of the Massage Career Preview. During this section of the event, you’ll get a taste for how it is to provide massage therapy as a career. A teacher from East West College will instruct you on the basics, such as setting up a massage table, draping clients, and doing a couple simple massage strokes. We will work in couples, so you are invited to bring a partner or partner up with someone at the event. To facilitate easy movement, it’s recommended that you wear comfortable, loose clothing.
